“Synod sympathizes with the families of those who lost their lives during the recent Ghana Armed Forces recruitment at the El Wak Sports Stadium,” he stated solemnly.
In his charge, the Bishop also expressed the Diocese’s support for the steps being taken by the military leadership to ensure accountability and prevent similar tragedies in the future.
“We side with the Ghana Armed Forces Command in forming a committee to investigate what went wrong and to prevent such a disaster from recurring,” he added.
He encouraged national institutions to prioritize safety, proper crowd management, and efficient emergency protocols in all public processes, especially those involving young people seeking opportunities for service.
The Bishop concluded by calling on the Church to continue praying for the grieving families, the Ghana Armed Forces, and the nation, trusting God for healing, wisdom, and reforms that protect the dignity and lives of citizens.
