The Guest Speaker for the Second Session of the First Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Tema, The Most Rev. Paul K. Boafo (PhD), Immediate Past Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana, delivered an inspiring and challenging address that resonated strongly with delegates.

Commending the Diocese for the solid progress it has made in its early years, he noted that the foundations laid so far are commendable, but he stressed that the true stability and growth of the Diocese depend on building firmly on Jesus Christ.

“The strong foundations built by the Diocese thus far must be anchored on Jesus, so that the superstructure of this great Diocese will stand,” he emphasized.

Most Rev. Boafo highlighted that as the Church looks toward expansion and consolidation, technology must become an essential tool for evangelism. He called on the Diocese to embrace digital platforms, media ministry, and innovative communication channels to reach young people, working-class families, and members who are home-bound or unable to attend physical services.

He noted that in an increasingly digital age, the Church must not be left behind.

In concluding his address, the Guest Speaker reminded the Synod that no amount of strategy or planning can replace the power of prayer. He urged clergy, church leaders, and congregations to make prayer the backbone of every mission effort, noting that prayer aligns the Church with the will of God and sustains every ministry initiative.

His message, delivered under the Synod’s theme “Expansion and Consolidation: Reappraisal of the Gains and the Strategy for the Future,” challenged the Diocese to blend spiritual depth with practical innovation as it charts its future direction.
