Celebrating Growth: Church Planting Milestones in the Tema Diocese

Uncategorized

Since the historic inauguration of the Tema Diocese in December 2023, we have seen God’s hand at work in remarkable ways. With a renewed focus on evangelism and mission, the Diocese has successfully planted and named five new churches within and beyond the Greater Accra Region. Each new congregation represents a growing community of faith and a deepening Anglican presence in these areas.

Here are the newly planted churches:

Bishop Daniel Torto Anglican Church, Sege
Established on 2nd March 2025
A vibrant congregation growing in faith and community outreach in the Sege area.

Archbishop Robert G. A. Okine Anglican Church, Dawenya
Established on 30th March 2025
A new spiritual home offering worship, fellowship, and service in the Dawenya community.

Philip Quaque Anglican Church, Kubekrome – Ashaiman
Established on 4th May 2025
Named after Ghana’s first ordained African Anglican priest, this church brings hope to the people of Kubekrome.

Bishop John Aglionby Anglican Church, Ziguinchore – Tema Manhean
A growing church in the heart of Tema Manhean, serving the Ziguinchore community with love and dedication.

Rev. Thomas Thompson Anglican Church, Tema Community 3
Established on 18th August 2024
A thriving congregation committed to worship, discipleship, and community impact.

These church plants reflect the Diocese’s commitment to expanding the reach of the Gospel, strengthening Anglican identity, and nurturing communities in faith and fellowship. As we continue on this journey, we are filled with gratitude and anticipation for what lies ahead.

Let us continue to pray, support, and serve as we build on this foundation and advance the mission of Christ in every corner of the Diocese.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” – Matthew 28:19
